Gameday Upstate attends Historic Groundbreaking Ceremony!!!
Gameday USSSA Upstate was on hand during the month of April and was invited to Spartanburg, SC to attend the Tyger River Sports Complex Opening Ceremonies. It was a great and exciting event for the city of Spartanburg and for our Gameday USSSA teams that will be the first to play in an event there. Gameday will host the first Travel event ever in the Fall of 2011. Check out the scenes below!!

Tournament Directors

Bobby Youngblood
Coach Bobby Youngblood is one of the most recognized baseball people in the Southeast. Youngblood coached collegiately at Anderson University (baseball) and USC-Spartanburg (men's basketball) becoming one of few coaches to work with two sports at that level. Coach Youngblood also led Greer's American Legion baseball team to two League Championships. Bobby owned and operated the Sports Academy, South Carolina's first indoor training facility of its magnitude. The veteran coach has four World Series rings with the S.C District I Big League World Champions in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007. USSSA Baseball named Bobby Youngblood Upstate Director in 2007.
Coach Youngblood began directing baseball tournaments in 2000 as part of his indoor training center program. He has directed 165 tournaments during this time.
Dan Wright
Dan has been directing USSSA Baseball tournaments in the Upstate for 6 years. He played high school baseball at A.C. Reynolds in Asheville, N.C. Wright then went on to play collegiately at Spartanburg Methodist College, transferring to UNC Charlotte where he completed an outstanding career. Coach Wright won numerous championships coaching teams through his indoor training center and also coached briefly at the collegiate level.
